Visit early morning or late afternoon for the best wildlife sightings. Carry sun protection, water and comfortable walking shoes. Do not feed or disturb wildlife; keep noise to a minimum. Follow all guidance from forest staff and signage.
Summers (April–June) can be very hot, with temperatures reaching up to 45°C, so plan outdoor activities for the cooler morning and evening hours. The monsoon (July–October) brings the waterfalls to life but can make some trails slippery, while November to February offers the most pleasant weather for safaris and treks.

Gomarda Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Chhattisgarh, near Sarangarh, roughly 16 km south of the town.
Gomarda was notified as a wildlife sanctuary in 1975 and covers approximately 277.82 sq. km.
The cooler months from November to March are generally the most comfortable for wildlife tourism, though the forest has a distinct character in every season.
