Sunlit grasslands near the ridge are prime habitat for grazing mammals such as Sambar and Chital. In the soft early morning and late afternoon light, the open meadows glow gold, drawing herbivores out to graze and offering some of the sanctuary's most striking photography opportunities.
These grasslands form a vital transition zone between the dense deciduous forest and rockier hill terrain, supporting a rich mix of grasses, wildflowers and the herbivores that depend on them.
